Cracking creativity
Do you think outside the cow?
The ‘cow’? But I thought it was supposed to be ‘box’?
‘Supposed to’ can be the enemy of creativity. It can also be it’s best friend.
Apple is built by defying assumptions. From building their own hardware and selling directly to consumers, to producing computer generated characters that show emotion and a digital music store that all music companies support, the Apple team have repeatedly spotted what is ‘supposed to’ be and changed it.
By identifying the deep assumptions that limit our thinking, we can all release our creative energy. That way we can compare Apple with cows. Now there’s an idea worth milking.
At the end of the Go large you will have:
- Realised how the way you tend to think is keeping you from innovating.
- Discovered how to spot a creative block and so think around it.
- Explored techniques to mine your deep assumptions.
- Exercised your creative muscles.
- Experienced how having fun can make you more productive.
