Booster

Theory is neat but the world is messy. The Booster highlights what happens when we bring them together so we can make a lasting difference in our lives, not just our head.

What is a Booster?

It may have made great sense in the workshop but putting our insights into practice back at work tends to be far from straightforward.

The Booster gives people the chance to review what happened when they gave it a go and learn from each other’s experience.

We tend to dismiss what went well too easily and so risk failing to repeat our successes. We can just as hastily exaggerate the consequences of our first attempt not going entirely to plan (it rarely does) and so give up. The Booster guides us to learn from our own and our colleagues so we can do (even) better next time. As vitally, because we know there’ll be a public review coming, we’re far more likely to give it a go. Who wants to be the only one in class whose mouse ate their homework?

The Booster is run by an expert coach, either face-to-face or virtually, usually two or three weeks after the learning programme. Each Booster follows a similar structure, although with tailored content that is directly linked to the previous Workout, Sprint, Mission or Go large the participants have attended. A Booster lasts 30-45 minutes.

At the end of the Booster you will have:

  • Shared stories of success and picked up ideas from the successes of others.
  • Identified the challenges and barriers that have prevented success so far.
  • Explored how these blocks can be overcome.
  • Created an action plan for continuing to apply new skills back at work.
