There’s no smoke without fire, they say. In much the same way, you could argue that there are no original thoughts without creative sparks.
But what can you do when your mental fire is out?
Our thinking tends to follow certain set patterns. As a result, when we try hard to think creatively we can find the experience extremely frustrating, coming up with a range of minor variations to familiar thoughts but without much that we consider original.
If you sometimes find yourself feeling distinctly uncreative then you need techniques that will take you out of your creative lethargy and generate sparks of innovation. Fortunately, there are loads of creative firelighters all around us if we know where to look.
